KIYO

KIYO is a collection of Japanese style dessert utensils made entirely of zirconia.  This series was designed to enhance enjoyment of delicate dishes such as traditional Japanese sweets.

Thick wooden spoons or cocktail forks are not ideal for full appreciation of the delicate presentation of these exquisite treats.

Conversely, KIYO is made to be precisely 0.8 mm at its thinnest, preserving the presentation of any elegant dish.

Additionally, zirconia provides a pleasant texture in the mouth without imparting a metallic taste.

The matte texture of the zirconia is evocative of stone, bringing elegance and richness to the dining table.  It also fits a traditional Japanese setting perfectly.

This is a two-pronged fork made of pure zirconia that also suits a traditional Japanese setting.

Its unique shape allows the enjoyment of any treat in its entirety, as it can act as a regular fork while simultaneously scooping up toppings such as the kinako and anko that often accompany traditional Japanese sweets.

This is a pure zirconia utensil with a shape resembling a traditional Japanese sword. The matte, smooth texture makes it very easy to cut delicate sweets without sticking.

ZIKICO prides itself in creating fine cutlery forged from minerals.  The elegance of the KIYO dessert cutlery series was born out of this idea.

In 2019, we announced the arrival of the SUMU cutlery series.  SUMU in Japanese has the meanings of both “live” and “clear.”  This name expresses our aim to provide high-quality zirconia utensils to be enjoyed on a daily basis.

It is difficult to manufacture large products using zirconia.  In addition, the material itself is quite expensive.  For these reasons, the handle section of SUMU utensils is made of high-quality resin.  This is to keep the price affordable so that you will be encouraged to use these utensils daily, not just on special occasions.

KIYO dessert cutlery, however, is made entirely of zirconia. This is more difficult to manufacture and requires more raw material. By solely using zirconia, the elegant texture and color are unified throughout each piece. This cutlery series makes full use of the integrity of pure zirconia.
